I've never been to Portugal. Anything I should know?

Here's a 9 minute video that will give you a great run down! www.youtube.com/watch?v=DT-4_QwuwZ0

What Currency is used in Portugal?

The euro.

As there will be a number of group dinners, and not all stores accept cards, please have small bills on hand (under €50).

Do I need a visa?

Australian, Canadian, and British passport holders do not need a visa to visit Portugal. You may visit for up to 90 days. If you plan to visit other countries on your trip, please check whether you require a visa for them in advance.

Please be aware that many countries require you to have more than 6 months remaining on your passport from the time you are scheduled to depart.

What are we doing on the days before and after the wedding?

Anything you like!

Check out the 'Portugal' tab to get some ideas.

Adam & Sarah will keep you informed as to what they will be doing before and after the wedding, should you like to join them. (TBC!)

I've hired a car to get to the wedding. Is there parking available?

Yes, there is ample parking on site. There is no charge to park at Curia.

Where is the gift registry?

There isn't one! To make your travel easy, we recommend not bringing a gift.

There will instead be a card/memory box at the wedding where you can leave your written wishes.

What expenses are Adam & Sarah covering?

They will pay for dinner and drinks at the wedding, as well as the wedding night's accommodation (October 3rd). You book the room you would like with the hotel, and they will pay in advance so it's not on your bill at checkout. Breakfast will also be provided on October 4th, before departing for Porto.

A bus will be covered by Adam & Sarah, which guests are welcome to take from Cascais - Curia - Porto.

What will the weather be like?

In terms of climate, the average October temperature is between 15-23' Celsius.

Australians may want to bring a jumper. Canadians may want to bring swim suits :)

What should I bring?

It's best to come prepared for hot and cool weather. Pack a jumper/jacket in case the temperature dips overnight.

Bring comfortable walking shoes.

Sunscreen is often expensive in Portugal. Bring some from home.

LADIES - Footpaths across Portugal are paved with small tiles, which make it very hard to walk on in high heels. If you do bring heels, you won't be wearing them often.

A card to put in the memory box at the wedding :)

Money belts that you wear under your clothes are great if you are concerned about walking around with cash.

What should I wear to the wedding?

We will be celebrating 1920s style!

While dressing up is not compulsory, we encourage you to embrace the glamour and elegance of the era.
